Sri Padmavati Mahila University is proud to host the Children’s Science Congress (CSC), a sub theme for the Indian Science Congress to encourage scientific temperament in children. Indian Science Congress Association, an apex scientific organization of India meets annually in the first week of January. It is a programme of National Council for Science and Technology Communication(NCSTC), Department of Science and Technology, Government of India organized nationally by NCSTC-Network, New Delhi. The Childern’s Science Congress(CSC) aims at bringing to fore the imagination and innovation capabilities in science among children, that could pave the way for advancement in science and technology in the country among the future generations.
Childern’s Science Congress provides a forum for children, both within and outside the formal school system, to showcase their scientific knowledge and ability to solve societal problems through science. The Congress provides a platform for interaction of young scientists with the most accomplished scientists in the world. The Child Scientists will be, through this event, introduced to inquiry based learning approaches in project mode exploring something “from known to unknown or from unknown to known”. This will thereby help them to come up with different new knowledge associated with the various sub-themes of the Congress.
The three day event has scientific sessions, exhibitions, interactive sessions and several other scientific programs to encourage children throughout the country to visualize future of the nation and help building generation of sensitive, responsible citizens.
A pre event Science Rally is due on 31st December, 2016 in which about 3000 school children from Tirupati along with their teachers will participate.
